Can you conduct private tuition at my office or home ?
Yes, simply specify in the registration form that you would like lessons at your preferred location. Note a transport fee will apply, based on the location.

Do you have online classes ?
Yes, we can offer online classes for students who prefer this option! You are still welcome to drop by and say hello at anytime :)

When will the next course be scheduled?
We normally open the registrations two months before course starting date. Keep an eye on our course schedule at www.frenchtoast.sg/schedule

What is the fee for my lessons?
You can check our fees at : https://www.frenchtoast.sg/fees/

Will the same textbook be used for different modules?
Yes, you do not need to re-purchase the textbook for a same level’s sub-module (i.e., Beginner 1 and Beginner 2 will use the same textbook)

Are there extra costs like entry fee, yearly fee etc ?
No, we don’t charge any other fancy fee than lessons and books!

I’ve seen very cheap courses online, can you offer the same price ?
We are based in Singapore and as such, we rent classrooms and pay our qualified and professional staff here. Unfortunately, we can’t offer prices like online platforms which will connect you with a random teacher based abroad.

I’m not sure I can make it… most of language centers won’t refund… are you more flexible if I can’t join at the end?
As we need to plan according to the number of students, it is important for us to be sure that students will attend. However, we understand that sometimes it is just not possible, this is why it is possible to get a refund in some circumstances. Please check our terms and conditions there for more details!

Adult courses questions

I’m a total beginner, I have never learnt French before. Where should I start?
We have 3 levels, each divided into 4 modules of 20 hours (1 to 4). The level beginner is for total beginner. At the end of the 4 modules of Beginner, you should reach level CEFR A1. Of course, if you do not intend to go that far, you can stop at any module! (but it would be a pity!)

I learnt French before but I am not sure of my level. Do you have a placement test?
Yes, you can take our placement test at : http://frenchtoast.sg/placement-test/ or simply contact us with some background information (how long have you been studied French , when did you learn etc…). If required, a teacher will contact you to evaluate your level.

I checked the schedule but I might not be able to attend a lesson.. is there a make-up class?
If you can’t attend a lesson, contact us and we will do our best to find you a make-up lesson. However, please note that it is not always possible as sometimes there is no other course running at the same time!

I’ve heard that I can take French lessons with my SkillsFuture Credit. How does it work?
Every Singaporean can use his/her SkillsFuture Credit to enrol for our French Business course. This is a 40h course catering mostly for students who wish to equip themselves with French language skills. Simply look for French business course in our schedule!

I’m under 18… can I register for Adult course?
Yes, we welcome everyone! However, please note that the other students will be adults so it is preferable that you register for children or secondary courses.

Do you have online classes?
Yes, we do have online classes via videoconference. However, by default our classes are held in-person as we think that learning a language is more efficient and fun in a classroom!

Children and Secondary courses

My child is 4 years old, which course should I choose?
For children under 6 years, our playgroups will offer fun educative activities in French. The teacher being a native speaker, your child will get familiar with French accent and everyday’s vocabulary.

My child is in Primary school (6-12 years), which course should I choose?
Children courses are suitable. You should choose Beginner level (module 1) if your child is total beginner.

My child has taken some French lessons before but I am not sure of his/her level. Do you have a placement test?
Yes, you can take our placement test at : http://frenchtoast.sg/placement-test/ or simply contact us with some background information (how long have you been studied French , when did you learn etc…). If required, a teacher will contact you to evaluate your child level.

What is French in lieu of mother tongue?
If your child is exempted from one of the 3 official mother tongues in Singapore (Chinese, Malay, Tamil) by the MOE, French is a popular choice as a mother tongue in lieu. Indeed, French is a useful language spoken in many countries and an official UN language! You can find more information there.

Are you preparing for MOELC year-end exam?
We follow the MOELC program for Secondary students which ultimately prepares for O-level French. While we do follow the MOELC prescribed program, we go at a slower pace as our Secondary courses are 2 hours per week only. Therefore, it is very important for students to do all their homework and we encourage parents to register for additional lessons to fully prepare their children.
